Kai Roldan AMFT

Clinician

Therapy is an earnest, deep exploration of who you are and who you are becoming. All it takes is having a safe environment to allow you to reconnect with your innate wisdom and empower yourself. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative space to deeply explore who you are through radical self-acceptance and self-care. Ultimately, I am here to help you navigate life’s transitions and step into your full, authentic self.

I specialize in working with adults, young adults, and teens, with a dedicated focus on the LGBTQ+, trans/non-binary, neurodivergent, and BIPOC communities. Although, I am not limited to those populations. Guided by my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, my approach is informed by Depth/Jungian Psychology, and psychoanalytic and psychodynamic traditions. This helps my clients look beneath the surface to find meaning in their struggles. In addition, I am equally skilled in integrating practical tools like Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, somatic integration, the creative arts, and mindfulness. Ultimately, I believe in whatever works for you. We will tailor your therapeutic experience to your needs and desires.

I provide a safe harbor for those working through trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, spiritual exploration, and much more. Also, I have extensive experience helping people navigate identity exploration, gender transition, sexual orientation, relational or attachment difficulties, and non-traditional relationship structures.

Also, I bring a rich tapestry of community experience to my clinical work, from advocating for neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, transgender & non-conforming individuals to supporting unhoused populations through systemic and acute trauma. I believe that when our differences are honored rather than pathologized, they become our greatest foundations for empowerment.
