Sean Crotty PA

Clinician

I am a doctoral candidate in psychotherapy and Jungian psychoanalysis, dedicated to supporting individuals and couples seeking deeper self-understanding, healing, and growth. My work integrates depth psychology, relational approaches, and psychospiritual inquiry, with a focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I have extensive experience working with personality disorders and specialize in early relational trauma, narcissistic dynamics, codependency, grief and loss, addiction, and issues related to sexuality, spirituality, and sense of self. I also facilitate men’s groups, supporting emotional awareness, relational capacity, and embodied presence.

I hold a Master’s degree in Public Health, where my research explored Indigenous medicine and altered states of consciousness in the treatment of anxiety and depression on Native American reservations. My current dissertation examines the intersection of Indigenous wisdom and modern psychotherapy. I am published in the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology on psychospiritual emergencies and the decolonization of psychedelic practice, and I teach courses in psychedelic preparation and integration grounded in ethical, culturally informed care.

My therapeutic style is warm, relational, and insight-oriented. I approach healing through a holistic, non-pathologizing lens, guided by the belief that much of life’s suffering carries inner meaning—and that where we experience the most pain is often where growth is trying to emerge. I strive to create a safe, grounded space where unconscious patterns can be explored and integrated into conscious awareness.

In addition to clinical work, I collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) as a contributing author and researcher examining the colonization and commodification of Indigenous healing practices.

"The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.”

—Alan Watts
