Karen Barranco AMFT
Clinician
Hello, my name is Karen and I hold a Masters in Somatic Psychology from the Naropa Institute, as well as a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University. I have over eight years experience working in community mental health and in private practice settings.
My work focuses on creating a collaborative, warm, and creative space to begin to explore, heal, and discover new perspectives on your life path. I provide trauma-informed care utilizing attachment theory, somatic experiencing, mindfulness techniques, and social justice theory. I would love to support you by holding a light up to your own personal strengths and challenges, and ultimately integrate a sense of peace into your life. I hope to provide you with experiences and opportunities for creative insights that help you to grow and become more aware of your goals and successes.
I have experience helping others navigate issues of depression, anxiety, neurodiversity, gender expression, sexuality, life transitions, and self-worth. My approach involves a deep listening, humor, and ultimately strives to create awareness and self-compassion around familiar patterns with a new sense of joy and resiliency.
