Mahip Rathore Psychologist

Clinician

I’m Dr. Mahip Rathore, a licensed psychologist, meditation teacher, and former lawyer dedicated to supporting individuals and couples seeking deeper self-understanding, healing, and growth. I specialize in mindfulness-based, psychodynamic, and multicultural approaches to therapy, with a deep commitment to serving international students, people of color, and those navigating cross-cultural identities.
I hold a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Tennessee State University and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. My therapeutic style is warm, relational, and insight-oriented—grounded in person-centered values and informed by over a decade of training in mindfulness and non-dual wisdom traditions such as Advaita Vedanta and Vipassana meditation.

With over five years of experience working in university counseling centers, I’ve supported diverse clients through anxiety, trauma, identity concerns, and relationship struggles. I also offer a unique Mindfulness-Based Relationship Coaching Program for couples looking to deepen connection and communication.

As an adjunct professor at Pacifica Graduate Institute, I teach Evidence-Based Practices and Social Psychology to doctoral students, keeping me engaged with emerging research and best practices in clinical care. My work blends academic rigor with contemplative wisdom to help clients build meaningful lives rooted in awareness, compassion, and cultural authenticity.

"When someone listens to you without judging you, without trying to change you, without taking responsibility for you, simply with an intention to accept you as you are, it feels really good. My hope is that you get many such moments in therapy and may the knots of your heart open, so you can give and receive care with ease."
