Clinician
Elmira Momeni, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Psychological Associate (PsyD doctoral intern) dedicated to supporting individuals navigating depression, anxiety, other thought and mood disorders, and trauma.
She earned her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she is completing her doctoral studies to pursue licensure as a psychologist.
Elmira brings extensive clinical experience working with culturally diverse individuals and families. Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach. Using a psychodynamic and attachment lens, she offers a safe and supportive space rooted in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard; helping individuals access their inner resources and move toward healing and personal growth.
Her clinical background includes work in community mental health, dual-diagnosis settings treating both mental health and addiction, providing grief therapy at a hospice, as well as working with new parents in the post-partum stage of life. The focus of the therapeutic work often involves individuals or families impacted by attachment difficulties, trauma, and inter-generational patterns.
Elmira aims to guide individuals in building their self-esteem, increasing self-acceptance, strengthening personal and interpersonal coping skills, and finding meaning in their own existence. She believes that reducing stress and enhancing self-care are essential steps towards well-being.
Drawing from an eclectic framework, Elmira integrates evidence-based practices with depth-oriented psychotherapy tailored to the presenting concerns and needs of the person. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful modality that prompts the reprocessing of painful memories, reframing limiting beliefs, creating new neural pathways, and restoring a sense of safety by rewiring the brain. Elmira aims to support individuals cultivate healthier, more fulfilling relationships to themselves, to others, and to their environments.
