Supervision Consultation with Gary Linker (Part 1)

A continuing education course for mental health professionals.

Course Description

     This continuing education training for supervisors is a group learning experience facilitated by Gary Linker PhD. The training will provide the opportunity to explore and discuss current challenges that arise in supervision, techniques/supervision styles, ways of supporting associates to process their counter-transference, and more. This training is tailored to the questions and needs of the supervisors who attend. Participants will receive direct feedback and consultation on their particular supervision questions. 
 
 

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify 3 common challenges and solutions supervisors regularly encounter.
  2. Learn 1 framework for identifying and managing supervisee’s countertranserence.
  3. Develop 2 tools for working with associates who are highly sensitive.
  4. Articulate 3 ways to proactively maintain high supervision standards.

  5. Integrate 1 strategy for helping associates think through and articulate their developing theory and approach of how their clients create change in their life

 

Hours: Course meets qualifications for 3 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT’s, LCSW’s, LPCC’s, and LEP’s as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

 

 

 

 Instructor: Gary Linker, Ph.D. M.F.T. is the co-founder of Pacifica Graduate Institute and has been a practicing psychotherapist for 46 years.  He worked closely with Elaine Aron, one of the founders of Highly Sensitive work.  He continues to practice and has a cadre of MFT interns in his private practice and at the Center for Successful Aging.

Cancellations made 6 days or more before the start of the training will be given a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. Cancellations made 5 to 1 days before the start of the training will be given a 50% refund. Cancellation made within 24 hours of the training will not be refunded.

Certificates: Course Completion certificates will be awarded at the end of the course in exchange for full attendance, signing in and out each day, and a completed evaluation form.
